The Dreher Dance Company is Dreher High School’s pinnacle performance ensemble. Created in 2005, under the direction of Dance Director, Kathleen Lee; this concert stage dance company nutures the artistry of young choreographers, deepen students’ performance quality, and trains versatile dance technicians. DDC is a year-round commitment with auditions annually in late April / early May.  

In 2007, DDC began its own company show: Dancing with the Teachers.  This annual fundraising event has become one of Dreher’s largest school community events of the year! Held in March, this show pairs students and teachers together in a dance competition where judges award a a trophy and a trophy is also given for the team raising the most money. Funds raised for the dance program also go to helping send DDC members to New York City for additional dance training at Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. With the growth of the company, the position of dance captain was instituted in 2012. 

In 2016, DDC joined the Dreher Marching Band, performing sideline pom dances at every home football game and serving as the bands  color guard during their competitive marching band season. Since Lee signed on as the Band’s choreographer, the Dreher Blue Devil Marching Band has moved into a competitive standing each year! 

In addition to traveling to New York, the company has performed in Disney’ World’s Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, numerous school and community events. 2025: 2nd in the SCBDA Lower State Championship and 4th in the SCBDA STATE Championship.
